Appointed composer in residence of the Welsh Sinfonia

Appointed composer in residence of the Welsh Sinfonia under the baton of Mark Eager. The first concert of L’Annunziata and Last Letter for Cello and Orchestra will be performed on the 9th November at the Dora Skoutzer hall in Cardiff, and a new commission will performed on the 5th April also in Cardiff.

Noah’s Lullaby

In Feb 2011 Noah Tyler was born with a devastating brain injury. He died 10 months later at the Ty Hafan Hospice, where he had spent a large portion of his very short life. This piece is dedicated to his memory, and was performed at his memorial service in early 2012. We are hoping to raise money for Ty Hafan, through the Noah fund very shortly.

Associate of the Royal Academy of Music

Michael received an associateship to the Royal Academy of Music, presented by Lord Burns in January 2012. The ceremony took place in Duke’s Hall in May 2012.

Weinberg CD wins a Diapason d’Or

The first volume of Weinberg Violin Sonatas, recorded with Yuri Kalnits (Violin) wins a Diapason d’Or for the month of May in France’s music magazine.

 

The Diapason d’Or is a recommendation of outstanding classical music recordings given by reviewers of Diapason (magazine) in France, broadly equivalent to Editor’s Choice, Disc of the Month in the British “Gramophone” magazine.
